PublishedReports and templates
Built-in and personal templates, the designer, repeated items and saved output.
Each module uses Reports → Templates → System / Personal. Generated outputs are directly under Reports. A design is a template; a result is a saved data snapshot and PDF.
Use a built-in template
Choose Create report… on source data and select a suitable template. Genealogy includes People overview, Image documentation, People with images and Genealogical diagram. Manuscripts provides dataset, training and evaluation reports.
System templates have a lock; the distributed application allows inspecting their designs and generating output. To modify one, create a template with Create from a template. The personal copy is independent and unaffected by later changes to the original.
Design a personal report
- Create a design from the Reports or template folder context menu.
- Choose the dataset and sample record for the design preview.
- Arrange data fields, text, images and graphic elements.
- Set record scope, filters, sorting, styles, title page and contents.
- Check the preview and use Generate report with an explicitly selected source.
The sample record is for designing. All records, the default scope, generates all records in the selected dataset/source after filtering. Choose the appropriate scope explicitly for just one person. Different people sharing a name are not merged.
Repeated items and pages
For multiple documents, marriages or attachments, insert a container from Page elements → Repeated items. Repeat for, or the first data field, sets its source. Place fields in the first column; set items per row and spacing on the container. A data branch alone does not create a container.
The designer shows the first sample item and indicates more; the output preview and print contain all items. Long text and tables can continue over pages. Add design page adds a design for the same record; the title page remains a single page. Pagination inserts current/total page numbers.
Library and template exchange
Personal designs live in a shared application library under the configurable User templates directory, not only in a project. Projects store template references, local source choices and results. Export template… writes JSON; import creates an independent personal template. Embedded images are included on save/export. Supply missing images before saving.
Conflicting simultaneous library edits do not overwrite a design. Export your variant and import it separately later. When moving computers, export required personal templates as well as the project.
Finished output
The result stores its PDF in the project. Changing sources or templates does not regenerate it. Save to PDF exports the stored output; generate again and confirm overwriting to update it. Cancellation or failure preserves the previous result.
Training reports use archived run sources and transcriptions. Missing sources are explained, not replaced by current images. Dataset PDF uses the chosen template; HTML, PNG + GT and PAGE XML remain separate data exports.
