Troubleshooting

An image cannot be loaded

1. Open the multimedia item's context menu.
2. Choose Locate file….
3. Select the corresponding disk file.
4. Check the preview and metadata.

An imported file is not visible

Check the active multimedia folder, switch between List and Thumbnails, and check for an active filter.

OCR or Kraken installation fails

The model manager shows installation progress and text output. Keep the error message and check free space, network access and the selected model. The isolated runtime can be removed without affecting system Python.

Find current runtime paths under Settings → Directories; Kraken and Party have separate subfolders in the shared HTR store.

Properties shows the wrong object

Click the desired node, image, block, line or entity again. The panel follows the active view's selection.

Report a bug

Use Help → Feedback…. Automatically attached diagnostics need verification in the application; do not include credentials or other sensitive information.

A research aid is unavailable

Open Tools → Research aids and check installation and internet access. Uninstalled databases are hidden in the tree. Removing a local aid does not remove personal templates; download it again if needed.

Recognition or segmentation is unavailable

Check the runtime/model in Tools → HTR models…. Party requires Apple Silicon and prepared lines; it does not segment pages itself. Replacing existing lines may be blocked on a page with several transcription versions. Recognise current lines to preserve version mapping.

An external image or store is missing

Check the attached disk and original path. Refreshing an external directory does not recognise renamed files as the same image; used unavailable items may remain recorded. After moving application stores, do not delete the old path links.

A report contains old data

A finished report is stored output, not a live project preview. Regenerate it from its template/source. Save to PDF alone exports the already stored result.
